Parity Violation in DIS at 12 GeV at JLab
نویسنده
چکیده
In 1978, Prescott et al. [1] showed that parity-violating could be observed in neutral currents by measuring the asymmetry APV = (σR − σL)(σR + σL) in the deep inelastic scattering (DIS) of polarized electrons from deuterium. By extending the kinematic range, the same group later published results that were able to exclude alternative theories to the Standard Model that were considered reasonable at the time. The key to the experiment is that DIS PVDIS is sensitive to both the axial-vector (vector) electron couplings C1u and C1d (C2u and C2d) quarks in the phenomenological Lagrangian

(Letter Of Intent to Jefferson Lab PAC-24) H Parity Violating Deep Inelastic Scattering at CEBAF 6 GeV
We propose to perform a measurement of the parity violation asymmetry of H deep inelastic scattering (DIS) at (GeV/c) . The ultimate goal is to extract the weak mixing angle and to determine the effective coupling constants ! #"
متن کامل~e−2H Parity Violating Deep Inelastic Scattering (PVDIS) at CEBAF 6 GeV
We propose to measure the parity violating (PV) asymmetry Ad in ~e−H deep inelastic scattering (DIS) at Q = 1.11 and 1.90 (GeV/c) at x ≈ 0.3. The combination of the two measurement will provide the first significant constraint on higher-twist (HT) effects in PVDIS at a level of 2.8%/Q. With HT effects thus measured, this experiment will constrain the poorly known effective weak coupling constan...

We present an update to experiment E91{004, a measurement of parity violating elastic electron scattering from He at the location of the rst maximum of the He charge form factor. E91{004 was approved in 1993 with an \A" rating for 85 days of beam. The experiment will use a beam energy of 3.3 GeV, a 20 cm long high pressure helium target, and the two Hall A spectrometers at 13.5 and 3.2 GeV/c to...
متن کاملLOI to JLab PAC 31 RF Cherenkov picosecond timing technique for Jlab 12 GeV physics program
A new particle identification device for Jlab 12 GeV physics program is proposed. It is based on the measurement of time information by means of a new radio frequency picosecond phototube (RFPP) and time measuring concept. The expected time measurement precision for Cherenkov time-of-flight (TOF) detector in a “head-on” geometry based on RFPP is about or less than 5 picoseconds, FWHM. The propo...
